Error after Archive and Install

Recommended Posts

I had to do an archive and install of OS X, and now receive this message when I start Accordance "The file ":Preferences:com.OakTree.Accordaevtoapp^" cannot be modified, because write permission has been denied. The write permissions for this file may be changed opening "Get Info" in the finder."

The only problem is that I can't find that file. Any help would be great!

This refers to a file which should be called:

com.OakTree.Accordance.Path.txt

and found in the main /Library/Preferences.

You can just delete anything you see there that starts com.OakTree......

In version 6.9 we will be putting that file (which allows the widget to find Accordance) into the ~/Library/Preferences for each user. This will eliminate the error message now annoying non-admin users.

For what it's worth, I've seen this on several admin accounts after transferring or doing archive & install on new Tiger machines. I've just deleted the preference file and it works.
