Synchronising a Reference Tool to a Text

How do I synchronise a Reference Tool module with a Bible text?

I have my Bible texts in the first tag and I want to use the Robertson's Word Picture reference tool. I have Word Pictures as a separate tag. I don't want it on the same tag as my Bible texts as I already have 5 Bible versions and their respective Notes in that first window. What I want is for my Robertson's Word Pictures to keep in synch with my 'current' texts so that if I have Acts 17 in my Bible text windows I also have almost instant access to Robertson's information on that chapter.

It seems a fairly basic requirement so I may have just missed the way of making this connection. Any advice would be much welcomed.

Thank you

Ron, from either tab, go to the Set submenu of the Window menu, then tie the tab you're in to the other tab. Tying tabs or windows syncs the scrolling.

You can also right-click on the tab itself and tie it to another tab from the pop-up menu.

Many thanks to you both!

  • 2 months later...

I am having an issue with tie-ing tabs together.

I have a commentary workspace that has the ESVS (renamed NT Commentary ESVS) & 7 commentaries - BK Commentary, NIBC, Bible Speaks Today - NT, Calvin, JFB, Henry Commentary, & Clarke's Commentary.

I have them all set to recycle contents & tied to "NT Commentary ESVS". The workspace is named NT Commentaries, and is a favorite. When I save the changes (the tie-ing), close it, then re-open it ... the tie-ing has disappeared.

It is rather frustrating as it takes a minute or two to re-tie them all the time.

Any help would be appreciated.

I believe that if you save the workspace as a session it will save the ties, because it is now saving all open windows. If you just save a workspace the tabs might be tied to other windows, so the relationship is not saved.

This seems to have worked.

Thank you Helen, for your help ... you guys are the best.
