Robert Alter - Five Books of Moses, Psalms, Story of David

I'd like to see these in Accordance, both the texts and Alter's notes. I used his Genesis translation when I taught that book in Sunday School a couple of years ago, and I'm using his Psalms for an upcoming series on that book. Both the translations and the notes are excellent. The translations retain the style and flavor of the Hebrew.

Was about to start a thread and found this one! What level of interest might there be in seeing Alter's work in Accordance? At least two of us!

Make that three! I would love to see...

The Five Books of Moses: A Translation and Commentary

Ancient Israel: A Translation and Commentary

The Book of Psalms: A Translation and Commentary

The Wisdom Books: A Translation and Commentary

Strong as Death Is Love: A Translation and Commentary

And we might as well add The Art of Biblical Narrative / Poetry to complete the bundle!

Yes, I would like to have all Alter's translations in a Bible module that can run in parallel with his notes in another module.

I've enjoyed some of Alter's work on paper as part of my devotional reading in the past.

Is the publisher now willing to allow an electronic version? It's my recollection that wasn't the case the last time Oaktree asked.

Good question. We'd have to find out.

Alter's 3 volume of The Hebrew Bible would be fantastic, but like @jlm, I had heard that the publisher was not allowing electronic rights.

Yeah, probably won't happen because of that.
