R. Mansfield
While looking for my missing user tool, I happened to notice that I have Library/Application Support/Accordance and underlying folders and files underneath both the root directory on my Mac and under my account directory. Is it supposed to be that way, or should these only be in one place? Many (perhaps all--I didn't verify everything) files are in both places. Λύχνις Δαν
Hi Rick, Is either location using a symbolic to the another at some level or another, perhaps even on each file ? Thx D
Ken Simpson
Hi Rick, newer versions of accordance all do the local user library by default, and that is the recommended place. It can use the other though. Edited January 29, 2014 by Ken Simpson
R. Mansfield
That's what I thought. So should I delete the other folders?
Ken Simpson
As far as I know (and Helen or one of the techies can obviously chime in here), Accordance should behave itself with both folders in place, but again, the recommended place in in ~/Library/Application Support Just remember before you delete anything make sure you have everything you want that you can't redownload (think modules you have created, user notes, etc) So, I would just drag the Accordance folder in my Hard Disk:Library to the desktop and then run accordance and see what's missing... But I don't think anything horrible will happen if you just leave it alone. Edited January 29, 2014 by Ken Simpson
Julia Falling
At some point, Helen told me that I was less likely to have permissions problems if my Accordance folder was at the User level, not the System level. Wanting to avoid problems, and because I had it in only one location, I shut down Accordance and moved it. I think Ken's recommendation of pulling the System level Accordance folder out onto your desktop is a good idea. You might even want to simply do a module count and date comparison in the various sub-folders to make sure you've got everything before you trash the folder on your desktop. The Accordance folder is the biggest folder in Application Support. I wouldn't want it in there twice.
R. Mansfield
I've removed it from the System Level. It was old data. If something goes wonky, I'll retrieve it from my Time Machine backup, but I don't think that's going to happen.

Mine, at 8+ GB, is pretty good-sized. Yours is probably double that. Disk space aside, I just like to keep things tidy.
