Enoch
I would like to see, both on the Accordance sales site and in the Accordance program a list of Bible books with commentaries available. On the sales site this would tell the prospective buyer what he can find on a given book, with commenter's names in alphabetical order. Like this: BIBLE COMMENTARIES AVAILABLE PER BOOK with set indicated Genesis Abbot (Perfect Bible Commentary) Barnett (La La Land Commentary Set) Charles (Ear Tickler Commentaries International) Dogwood (Speculative Commentary Suite) Exodus Allen (Creedence Clearwater Revival Set) Brown (etc.) Carswell Davis Leviticus Axelgrease Bumsted Cadaver Dagwood Easletake Grandducho Huppim ... Shuppim A similar list would be available of one's own library so that it is easy to see at a glance for each Bible book what authors one owns
Ken Simpson
Allen (Creedence Clearwater Revival Set) I SOO want this commentary on Exodus!!!
Abram K-J
Cadaver on Leviticus would surely be a good one, too. (I second the idea.)
Abram K-J
Although, I have to say--keyword searching the store on the Accordance site by book of the Bible at least gets you pretty close to a working list of what Accordance offers on a given book. It would be cool to have a similar feature in the program, i.e., even if a search for "Genesis" in Accordance could turn up results similar to a search for "Genesis" in the store. Well, I just did an Accordance site search for "Revelation." The results brought up only 4 names: Beale, Mounce, Aune, and Dake's, though in the list it is not clear that Dake is a commentary, as it says, "General Tool." This is hardly a working list of what Accordance sells in Revelation commentaries. Or is there some special way of searching that I need to learn about? BTW, the list did bring up a commentary on Daniel and other stuff.
Abram K-J
No, I don't think there's another way to search the site, but are there other Revelation commentaries Accordance offers that aren't showing up in that search?
Enoch
No, I don't think there's another way to search the site, but are there other Revelation commentaries Accordance offers that aren't showing up in that search? I have started cataloging the Accordance commentaries that I have. Here are two more: Johnson, Alan F and Beasley-Murray. There must be many more. Enoch
Wonders never cease. You never know what you will find until you look. In the process of cataloging I am finding that different sets may have commentaries by the same author on the same book. For example, Word B C and New B C have the same authors commenting on Genesis, Ezra, and Nehemiah (Wenham and Williamson).
Tony Lawrence
Enoch, You have a great idea about having a list of commentaries in Accordance by book. May I offer a suggestion of how to see what you have available while also seeing how others rate the commentaries you might own. The site: http://bestcommentaries.com/ will allow you to search by the book of the Bible. It will also tell you which ones are available in Accordance. If you click on a specific commentary it will also provide reviews for that commentary. Just my 2¢ worth (adjusted for inflation).
Lorinda H. M. Hoover
Enoch, While looking in the Accordance Exchange for something else, I found an entry titled "a list of authors of commentaries in Accordance" it's in the Tools section, dated 06/07/2013
Enoch
Enoch, While looking in the Accordance Exchange for something else, I found an entry titled "a list of authors of commentaries in Accordance" it's in the Tools section, dated 06/07/2013 Thanks a lot, Lorinda. It will provide a list to play with to rearrange as I want it, as it does not go by 66 Bible books, listing what is available for each book, but it does give the authors in a set.
