Minimize Program Question

I am wondering if there is a setting in the preferences so that when you minimize the program it minimizes all parts of the window and not just part of it?

Searched the forum and it said to press and hold the option key and then select the minimize button, however, that does not minimize everything, at least for me.

In the Mac OS, there is no way (that I'm aware of) to minimize a program. You can minimize a window by clicking the orange minus in the top left corner of the window (or by pressing command+m). If you want to "minimize" the entire program, you click [Accordance] from the menu bar and select [Hide Accordance]. You can also do this by pressing command+h.

Note: the command key is the one with the apple symbol on it.

Thanks. Option and orange - will minimize everything except the Text Dock and the text area at the bottom that displays the greek/hebrew. Maybe I will have to learn to use the Zones to see if I can moves those areas to its own zone. If not, then I will have to just put up with it.

I'll second Sean's suggestion of hiding your unused apps. You can then use command-tab to open it back up again. if you keep your finger on the command key, you can cycle through your apps, hiding and unhiding them at will. It is, at least for me, a much more efficient method of gaining screen real estate than minimizing applications.

Thanks. I will have to get out my Mac OS X shortcut sheet to learn these keystrokes.
