Problem with NA28 linked to BDAG

When using BDAG as my default lexicon for NA28, the instant details/lexical popup (I don't know the right term) creates potential problems for long dictionary entries in that it cuts them off without stating that the article continues in the original source. I noticed this yesterday when reading Hebrews and at 3:6 I held on κατάσκωμεν to read the popup BDAG article. I knew the word meant "hold on" but I wanted to read the fuller article but BDAG's first definition is "to prevent, hinder, restrain". I read through expecting the second meaning but the popup showed some bibliography and then stopped. It looked like the natural end of the BDAG entry. I amplified the lemma and read the entire article but I think it would be helpful if the popup alerted me that the BDAG article was not entirely shown ("article continues..." or something like that). I can envision one of my students speed reading with this feature and because the article looked done they would have been more than little perplexed by this in Heb 3:6 because they may not have known the word and knew that something was amiss.

 

Ideally, the popups should scroll through the entire article but if that is a technical challenge in iOS, it would be nice to see some kind of mark or indication that the original lexicon's article is longer than the popup can display.

I see what you mean, and I would have thought the article ended there as well. My understanding is that there is a threshold which is allowed in Instant Details (which is the same on desktop and mobile). But I agree that we should either expand that threshold, or indicate (maybe with an ellipsis or something) that the article continues. Since the mobile app shares the same code base for this feature with the desktop, it would need to be implemented there first. I'm not sure what kind of priority that might have, but I'll forward this on as a feature request.
