Helen Brown
A persistent user has found some workarounds to the issue of pasting Hebrew Unicode into MS Word 2004 on Mac. First select a Unicode font such as Cardo or Lucida Grande. Then select Paste Special from the Edit menu, and Unformatted Text from the submenu (not Styled Text). The text does paste correctly into Word. Word also supports right-to-left entry of Hebrew, but not editing of the text. You can create and edit text in Accordance, Mellel, or TextEdit, and paste it into Word. PowerPoint on Mac does not support Hebrew Unicode, even when pasted from Word. Nathaniel Dykstra
In mentioning this workaround to Helen I forgot one piece of information. The Paste Special Unformatted Text solution works for the Hebrew text and the Hebrew with vowels but Word still can't handle pasting with cantillation marks. If you do not strip the cantillation marks, the text you paste will be messed up. Besides this problem, the Paste Special command works for pasting small or large sections of text but only in Word not PowerPoint.
DavidKrishef
You can create and edit text in Accordance, Mellel, or TextEdit, and paste it into Word. Don't forget Nisus Writer Express, a superb word processing program. Pasting from Accordance into Nisus is simple, and the native file format of Nisus of .rtf, complete word compatible (without translation).
