new purchase

Hi,

This is probably quite well explained somewhere in the Accordance forest of videos and pages, so my apologies in advance for the question : Where can be found a new purchase downloaded through easy install? This time: the Joüon Muraoka Hebrew Grammar.

BTW, it would be nice to have the indices of the GKC. When there is I will be much happy to buy it. The more in the Mac the less to carry around.

Thanks.

If you have already installed it, it should be in the Grammars section of the library (assuming you are using the version 11 library folders) or somewhere under General tools if you're not using version 11. If you can't find it, you can use the search bar at the top of the library window to find it. Once you've found it, you can right click on it, select "Show in Library" and then move it wherever you want.

Hi Yohanan, are these what you mean? Or are there indices we don’t have? I am happy to look through GKC if you tell me what to look for...

Thank you Jonathan. It is now in the General Tools, with the spirituals and others of the kind, which is a bit surprizing (why not in the Hebrew Tools?) Important is that now I found it. I had to upgrade to the 10.4.5 this afternoon. Is the version 11 to be bought ?

Ken, thank you for reacting and offering help. I was abroad and needed a grammar, so I searched the Accordance with the idea that it is always good to have at least one of these tools on the Mac when abroad. I did find the GKC, which I use at home as the main grammar, but right before the purchase I was alerted by a critic pointing to the fact that in this version there are no indices for the Hebrew words and the Scriptures passages as there is in the hard copy. So I bought the Joüon-Muraoka, which is not so bad btw for I had not this one on paper. I checked and it seems as a matter of fact that these indices of GKC are lacking in the electronic version, which is a pity for such a tool.

Finally I hope that some day there will be the Judaica on Accordance. A lot of Jewish commentaries of the past are deeply interesting. And there probably is a public for this… :-)

It's in General Tools because version 10 groups tools by the way they're organized. All Hebrew Tools are organized by Hebrew alphabet, like lexicons. All English Tools are organized by English alphabet. General Tools are organized in some other way, and thus include grammars. The library in version 11 is much more flexible and you can group things however you want. It's not free, though it's only a $50 upgrade since you already have version 10. You don't have to upgrade; you can continue using 10 if you want, but 11 has lots of other improvements too and I think it's well worth the price.
