Accordance has been unable to verify its status online...

When I attempt to launch Accordance, I get the message "Accordance has been unable to verify its status online for over 7 days. The program is now disabled until you are able to validate online" and then it crashes.

I do not remember a time when I was offline in the last 7 days. Safari and all other programs that require online access have been and are currently not experiencing any issues.

I am running Yosemite 10.10.1 on an iMac, Mid-2011. I tried validating the proxy settings and re-installing Accordance 11 to no avail. I also checked my account online and have not seen any problems I can identify.

Any ideas on what the program is looking for and how to overcome this? I cannot use the program at this time.

Thanks!

Hi Paul, at the risk of making some unwarranted assumptions, I think the issue is in the proxy settings. They need to be unchecked, not just “validated"

Please see Helen’s post here for detailed instructions.

Thanks for responding, Ken. When I say "validated" I mean that I checked to make sure the proxy settings were correct. Auto Proxy and Automatic Proxy are unchecked and Use Passive FTP is checked.

OK, virus checkers? Little Snitch or Hands-off?

All of them have been known to cause issues.

Have you tried the hint found here?

Paul:

The issue is simply that your Accordance status was set by the office to be temporary which requires an on-line log-in at least once a week. This happens behind the scenes as long as you did let Accordance save the login info. Unfortunately there is a bug which does not allow you simply to log in and remedy that status. The bug is fixed for 10.0.3, and a beta version is now available from our support staff that you can use if you are currently locked out.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hassle.

I presume Helen means 11.0.3, not 10.0.3... :)

And remember that the PTB are all busily beavering away at ETS/SBL - well SBL now. When they finish there they will start the advertising about whatever sales there may be for BF/CM. (I have absolutely no insider knowledge on this.)

Thanks, Mithril,

I did call the tech number and they sent me a link to the beta. You're right, it's not suppose to happen and should be corrected in the future update. I guess it's due to the fact that I purchased a resource on a payment plan. It attempts to validate my status every 7 days.

The second time I opened the beta version it worked!

Thanks for your help too, Ken,

Can't wait to hear what's coming for BF/CM!

I am having the same problem again today.

I received a call from tech support a couple weeks ago and we worked out removing some preference files, but now it's doing it again and I can't find the files to remove again.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's unfortunately, because I teach part-time at our church and many times don't use Accordance until the weekend...and tech support is closed.

Mike

According to the notes on your contact, you can go to user/Library/Preferences/Accordance Preferences and remove the General file. This will allow you to log in and validate Accordance. To see the user/Library open the Go menu in the Finder and press the option key.

Tech support does monitor email requests all weekend, though we hope our techs do take some time off!

I had this problem this morning. I eventually went into my Accordance files folder, then to user notes. I double clicked on a user note, which opened the note in a new Accordance workspace. I again got th unable to validate message, but Accordance did not immediately crash. Withouth clicking away the pop-up message (which would have caused it to crash), I was able to access the menu and go to easy install. This apparently performed the required login, and I haven't had any more problems.

I am having the same issue as well.  When I try to launch Accordance, I get a dialog that reads, "Accordance has been unable to verify its status online for over 5 days.  Please login to Easy Install to prevent interruption to your Accordance usage.  If Accordance is unable to verify after 7 days, it will be disabled until it can go online and verify its current status."

When I click the OK button, I get another dialog, which reads, "Accordance has unfortunately crashed.  You can view the crash log in Console.app, or find it in your ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports folder."  When I click the "Display Crash Log" button, this is what appears.

My Network preferences check out.  I do have Little Snitch installed, but every rule for Accordance is green-lighted.  I'm using version 11.0.4 of Accordance on OS X 10.10.3, so the problem corrected by the 10.0.3 beta is presumably included.

Right now I don't seem to be able to launch Accordance at all.  When this has occurred in the past (it happens every week), a second attempt to launch it would succeed, and I could log in at that point.  That doesn't work now.

Craig, I am sorry about the crash, but thanks to your help, it is confirmed fixed in the soon-to-be-released 11.0.5.  In the meantime, it seems that either you are still blocking some internet access via Little Snitch, or your online credentials haven't been saved, so Accordance can't confirm your status automatically.

If you contact tech support, they should be able to get you up and running ASAP, until 11.0.5 is released.

I don't know if I've misunderstood this thread, but are you saying I have to go online with Accordance once every seven days or it will shut me out?

Or is this just a one-time upgrade activation sort of thing?

Hi Alistair - it’s when you have to validate an upgrade.

The once in 7 days applies only to those few users whose status has been set to Temporary, for example, because they have a review copy of Accordance or are on a payment plan. The vast majority only need to be online to download new resources or updates.
