Search drop-down fields and CNTTS

Recommended Posts

I am not sure what is going on with CNTTS search fields. I have two workspaces opened, each with the CNTTS. I note, however, the two instances of CNTTS have different search fields. See the screenshots below. Could someone help me figure out what is going on here?

I launch Accordance 10.3.3.1 by clicking on a workspace file instead of the program executable.

thanks,

David

The first shot is definitely wrong. I suspect that you may have changed the module using the drop down menu, and somehow the fields for the other resource were still there. If this is the saved workspace try rebuilding the workspace then saving it again. At least that's my rec; others may have another option.

David, if this happens every time you open the workspace, would you mind zipping and uploading it here? If you aren't comfortable with that, could you at least private message it to me?

Hi Rick,

I re-built my workspace and saved it to my Google Drive. When I launch Accordance by double clicking on the workspace file, the same issue occurs.

However, the behavior changes when I:

1. Launch Accordance using the executable file on my desktop. This brings up a previous (and different) workspace.

2. Open the workspace that I had saved on Google Drive. This combines both workspaces together!

This time, the search fields appear to be correct. But now the arrangement of my panels and tabs are completely different, since Accordance combined two workspaces together. So, I should just try to store my single workspace on my desktop and see what happens.

Hi Joel,

After I re-arranged and deleted extra tabs and panels to create my intended workspace, the issue came back! When I saved the workspace to the default location on my desktop, the problem still persisted. The workspace file (12 KB) is below:

Thanks,

Hey David, thanks for the workspace. However, I only see one CNTTS in this workspace - am I missing something?

Or, are your CNTTS tools in separate workspaces? If so, I'd need you to save the session and attach that, so I can reproduce exactly what you are experiencing.

Thanks!

Joel,

I only used one workspace for the CNTTS, unless I need to read the introductory material to help me use it. I was looking for help on how to search in the CNTTS, and that's when I noticed the odd behavior.

I have replicated the problem by simply moving one of the resources to a different location in the same workspace. Maybe it's a preferences setting I'm using that's causing this, I don't know. The screenshots show the correct search fields for CNTTS and for Comfort Text Commentary, when the reference tools are side-by-side. But when I drag the CNTTS resource to the bottom, the search fields for one resource changes. The Comfort search fields now are the same as the ones for the CNTTS.

David

Hey David, thanks for the reports. Turns out this was a Windows specific bug, but its fixed for 10.3.4.

sorry to change topic...is it possible to see how CNTTS works on mobile? I'm so "tempted" to buy it for using on iPad, but I'm not sure it can work well there. Can you post a screenshot?

That's a good question, Serpentium. I don't own an iPad. Perhaps someone else who has CNTTS and an iPad can join in.

His Blessings,

David

You can certainly display the CNTTS well on an iPad, and see the meaning of each abbreviation. You can also search each field, but you won't be able to do the multi-field searches which make it such a powerful tool in Accordance.

Can you share some iPad screenshot?
