Character search

I know a period is used in Accordance to specify a search for the single following character. But what if I want to search for exactly 2 sequential punctuation characters? Like a search for:

-;

As in Ex 32:32 KJV?

How would I tell accordance to search for this?

Thanks!

Randy

You should be able to use:

.- .;

or

.- .;

but it did not work for me until I added the RANGE command

[RANGE Ex ] .- .;

and even then WITHIN isn't working, so it finds any hyphen followed by a period anywhere in the verse.

I tried the Construct window which is so elegant, but it fails with adjacent CHAR items.

We'll look into the bugs, sorry about that. It may be that the WITHIN simply fails because it's counting words, and the punctuation isn't a word.

Why doesn't the command

.- .-

or

.- <FOLLOWED BY> .-

Bring up the "--" in Ex 32:32 KJV?

Instead it brings up words with only one hyphen.

Thanks,

Randy
