Can't print user notes in column

I can't get Accordance to print my user notes in a column next to a column of scripture. Accordance will print both the headings. However, the first column has the heading for the scriptures and prints the scriptures, second column has the title of my user notes, but not a single one of my user notes is actually printed. Just a looooong blank column. I'm using 7.0.1

This seems to work fine for me. What are your print settings? I have attached a picture of mine below, and using these settings it worked for me. I am using 7.0.2, so that could perhaps be the reason for the difference, although I don't recall that being a bug that was fixed from 7.0.1. HTH.

Is it possible that you have more than one set of User Notes and that you're actually printing an empty set?

Thanks for the replies! ...but still no luck.

I just tried it on another computer with a different different install of accordance and different user notes and had exactly the same problem. The user notes column shows the heading, but the entire column is blank. I did realize something I didn't mention before: I'm just printing to a pdf. In the print dialog, I'm just pressing the "PDF" button and selecting "Save as PDF." What I'm actually trying to do is read my notes on the computer side by side next to the verses they go with, rather than how Accordance displays them. I didn't think of mentioning that I'm printing to a pdf file

I believe we have fixed a bug related to this: all of you should be using 7.0.3, and checking there whether the difficulty still occurs.

When you say you're trying to read them "side-by-side" instead of how Accordance displays them, I'm not sure what you mean. It is simple to have them in a parallel pane side-by-side with the verses. Just click on the white button with the two blue arrows next to the name of your notes file and you're in business. I pasted a screenshot of the button below just in case my description wasn't helpful. That will move the notes from below the text to a parallel pane.

On a side note, it would be a nice option in preferences to be able to choose whether tools (user/reference) should be shown in a pane beneath the text by default, or in a parallel pane next to the text by default. I always prefer them in parallel, and it would be nice if one click would make that happen as the standard action rather than having to move them from beneath to parallel every time.

Yep, I know that one (which is nice) but the two columns' verses only match up at the top and scroll proportionally. I want to make a pdf/printout where I can see all the verses side by side: where accordance puts spaces between verses/notes so that they line up by verse between columns. This works for me in Accordance if I'm printing their notes (see first page in attached image which uses scriptures next to commentary) but not my own (second page in the image below). I only get the name of my user notes file at the top of a blank column.

Helen... I upgraded, but I still have the same problem in 7.0.3

Yes, I can see that there is a problem, but I think it is partly due to your displaying the verses in paragraphs rather than separate verses. We'll try to fix the bug, but this may be a temporary workaround for you.

Thanks so much Helen! That did the trick! Exactly what I was trying to do. If you guys are fixing this, I noticed that it doesn't matter whether the notes are in a column or underneath when in paragraph mode. They won't print either way for me unless I switch to verse-on-a-line mode.

Thanks again!

Casey
