Martin Z
This is not a big problem at all, but I just wonder why. Every time I run the update, it shows at least the following shown in the screenshot. Then I downloaded and installed them. But they remain the same no matter how many times I download and install them. Hope somebody can explain this to me. Thanks! Martin
Julia Falling
Martin – Notice that these updates are in the Paid category. If you click on one of them, the lower part of the window will tell you how much the upgrade would cost should you choose to take advantage of it. If you click the Free tab, it should be empty. Λύχνις Δαν
Actually I don't think they are Paid looking at this dialog Julie. The Free button is indented in this dialog. Martin could you double check what version the library says that you have installed ? Check the little "i" icon against the items in the library. Perhaps the upgrade process is not working. In which I would try reinstalling them with Easy Install. Thx D Edited October 21, 2014 by Daniel Semler
Martin Z
Thanks for reply. I deleted the three books from my library and tried to reinstall them. They were successfully downloaded, but when I click "install", the following error shows up. It occurs to all three books. Note: This is windows version. Not on Mac. Why "Finder" shows up? Martin Z
I went to the folder and saw that the files names are messed up (My OS is Chinese, and I cannot change the OS language). I deleted and redownloaded the files. The same problem. I think the ['s] is messed up. Is it possible to change the file name in the server? Λύχνις Δαν
Ok interesting. That's the temporary directory into which the modules are downloaded prior to installation. As an aside that's a very Mac error message. The terminology in it probably needs an update. What does Windows Explorer show for those files ? Looks like you have a permissions problem. Those files are also normally deleted after successful installation and yet in your case they have not been. I would be inclined to check the permissions on those files and open up write permission and try again. I would close Accodance first before modifying the permissions though. My guess is that for some reason you have an old one lying around. Thx D

Looks like the files are downloaded as compressed files in another folder. I opened the compressed file and noticed that the ['s] is messed up. Looks like there is a [space] between ['] and . But actually there is not. I changed it into normal and hit [Enter], then a new file shows up. Then I click 'install', unfortunately, it does not work as well. This problem with ['s] happened before with a Bible version. I tried numerous times and could not solve the problem until I finally uninstalled the Accordance and reinstalled it. I don't want to uninstall and redownload all these purchased resource again if there is another way to solve the problem.
Λύχνις Δαν
Hmmm.... ok I had not paid attention to this but all these modules have an apostrophe in the name. That has caused issues in the past. I actually have these installed at these version on Win 7. I would try things at this juncture that I am not necessarily keen to suggest to someone else. I wonder if the downloads did not complete properly. I also don't know what version you are on but it has to be 10.something as it's Windows. What I would try is deleting the temporary files while Accordance is shutdown. Then the download piece will be able to repeat itself. My suspicion is that the download first failed, and now cannot succeed because of permissions, but that the update process knows those files are incomplete. (This I might add is something of a guess). If you are not comfortable with this then the best, and safest, suggestion I can make at this point is to get hold of Oaktree support. This sort of situation has many variables and they will be able to work through it with you. Thx D
Martin Z
Mine is v.10.4.3.2. I don't think the downloading is incomplete. All other files have been successfully downloaded. Accordance shows no problem. I think the file name is causing the problem. I can see the process. When I click download, Accordance starts to download the files to a Temp folder called "AccordanceDownloads". These are compressed files. Then if I click "install", Accordance starts to extract the files to another Temp folder called "AccordanceFiles". It then will delete those .zip files and try to install the extracted files with the extension of .atool. But because the files names are messed up. It fails to install and shows error message. I will contact Accordance Help. Thanks! Martin
Λύχνις Δαν
Ah ok - so yes they seem like they are probably ok. So yes the apostrophe is worth pursuing. Oddly I have not personally had an issue with it. Not sure why not. There are some reports of it in the forums though. Good luck. Thx D Edited October 21, 2014 by Daniel Semler
Helen Brown
Martin: as in all bug reports we need to know what system you are running and which version of Accordance. We have fixed this bug, I know, but the fix may not yet apply to your Chinese system.
Martin Z
I don't have my Windows laptop with me right now. I'm pretty sure it is windows 7 home premium. It is not like professional or higher which have the option of switching system languages into English or whatever. My accordance version is 10.4.3.2.
