Accordance makes me want to quit my job!

I have sincerely enjoyed my job for many years now, but it's gotten to the point where the texts and the tools in Accordance have become so interesting that I regret having to go to work in the morning.

It all started as a daily commitment to read the Bible (using Accordance) for 10 minutes each morning back in 2009.

Now, though, my morning reading has turned into study and it has become so fascinating that there is hardly a day when I finish under 30 minutes. It often lasts an hour or more. When I get a spare moment throughout the workday I perform various searches to follow-up on whatever came to mind from the morning studies. By the end of most week days, though, I'm pretty wiped out. My attempts to continue on the iOS app usually end in deep sleep. :)

Weekend studies are different. They usually last much longer, sometimes taking up most of the day (until the family intervenes or complains).

This makes me think about how nice it would be to quit my job and spend more time studying the Bible.

I guess my family would throw me out after that. ;)

Maybe Accordance should put a warning label on their product page!

Chuck –

Accordance really does make the most of our study time. I, too, have found it to be addictive! There are two things that have revolutionized my Bible Study – Accordance and studying Greek (and Accordance streamlined the Greek study).

All those folks out there using physical books have no idea how much they're missing!

I found myself re-learning aspects of the Construct search last night, and spent more time in the help files than I had intended to, but it was time well spent. It's an easy program to get lost in (in a good way), as you say, Chuck.

Did you know, for example, that there are only two times in the Septuagint (2 Macc. and 4 Macc.) where a comparative adjective and a superlative adjective occur within five words of each other? Ha! I didn't either, but was curious--it took me about 10 seconds to set up and run the search and see the results in Accordance.

I empathize with your plight! I really loathe that I haven't been able to spend more time with Accordance. And, I regret I haven't been diligent in sending reports to Windows Feedback. But, I am going to try and change that soon.

I'm sorry that some of you have to go to work ... I became disabled back in 2008, at the time it was not what I wanted to do at 50. About a year ago, I stumbled onto Bill Mounce's website; teknia.com and have been going through his "Basics of Biblical Greek." I'm still working on my Greek, but it was on his website that I learned about Accordance just as the Windows Beta was getting underway. As they say, the rest is history ... I have since bought the Bible Study Collection and numerous other modules, but my most recent purchase was the Basics of Biblical Greek for Accordance and it's made studying Greek even more exciting.

*Rubbing it in disclaimer* So for all of you who can't stay at home all day and use Accordance, I do spend most of my waking hours on the computer using Accordance.

What a blessing my disability has become for me ... I still have a lot of pain to deal with (degenerative disc disease) but God has blessed me with the time I can now spend in His word.
