David Knoll
Is it possible to search for those lemmas which only occur within a specified RANGE? For instance all the lemmas which are unique within the Hebrew Bible to the Book of Ruth. Many Thanks
Brian K. Mitchell
Hello David, Try the following: [COUNT 1] <AND> [RANGE Ruth] Edited July 21, 2013 by bkMitchell
Helen Brown
That search finds lemmas that occur only once in Ruth. I think David wants lemmas that don't occur outside Ruth. For that you need two tabs. In the first tab you search for all lemmas with * and a range that excludes Ruth (easiest to set up in the Range pop-up menu). In the second tab you have [Range Ruth] *@-[HITS firsttabname]. This finds all the lemmas in Ruth except those found in the first tab.
David Knoll
Thanks Brian, Thought about that. If I understand correctly this only returns Hapax Legomena within the RANGE. I need to find words that can occur twice or thrice but do not occur at all outside the RANGE. Thanks again

Brian K. Mitchell
Oh, I think I get it now! The first tab's search is basically a word list that the second tab's search is ran against to query out or eliminate the hits from books other than Ruth. So, I guess one could also use this method to compare the vocabulary of the Tanakh/ Bible with the Mishnah, too. I could find all the vocabulary unique to the Mishnah and I could find all the vocab that the Bible and the Mishnah have in common.
David Knoll
Helen: It worked. Brian: You got it. That's exactly how it works. Thank you both!
Brian K. Mitchell
Shalom David! I have got a whole lot to learn about conducting searches in Accordance. But, it seems when things are explained they tend to make sense and leave me thinking, "why didn't I see that before"? Or "WOw". Anyway, thank you for your question; it was pleasantly surprising to see how fast it got answered!!! !להתראות
