Improved Copy and Paste feature

It would be nice to see a copy and paste verses option implemented into the Accordance program itself. Though I like the widget, it seems to have a hard time staying functional through the various updates that have been released through the years. As has been mentioned in other posts it does not work properly in the iWork Pages or MS Word. It is mostly functional in Pages '09.

Would it be possible to implement a copy and paste window within the program in which a range of verses could be typed in and sent to the clipboard? Something that would be as easy as invoking that pop-up window with one key combination, typing in a reference and pressing return. Then returning to the word processor and pasting with 'Command+V'?

I remember seeing this type of option available in the very user friendly 'E-sword' program.

Copy and Paste is such an important part of study and preparation; it would be nice to see Accordance 'catch up' in this area and create an intuitive and enduring function for it.

Thanks!

Have you had a look at Joe Weaks' Accordance Services over on his Macintosh Biblioblog page? They are better than the widget IMHO, can be linked with Quicksilver and work really well! May not be to your taste, but work for lots of us

And in a bit of good news for those of us who are big fans of Joe's services, they now work in the new Pages! The latest update has restored their functionality - for which I am REALLY grateful!

In Christ,

As I tweeted, I'm very happy that Apple added Applescript functionality back into the new iWorks apps. We knew it was coming.

I am so glad this feature is back. I never really got used to using quicksilver or alfred. Plus, ⌘1 and ⌘2 to insert verses is way quicker for me.

Ken,

Thanks for the suggestion. I stopped using QS sometime ago when its development and support was in question. Even though I have been using Alfred, I may give Joe's services another whirl. I remember in the past when I was a new user that I had some difficulty getting the services installed. I blame this on my lack of tech acumen, however, not the services themselves.

I have been helping a new Mac and Accordance user through the learning curve process. This copy and paste situation was one of the things that he expressed some frustration with. Being a great Accordance lover I wanted to 'one up' any comparison to the free PC Bible program he had. However, I couldn't say much when it came to why there isn't a simple intuitive feature within the Accordance program for copy and paste - without the need for a third party developer.

From what I understand Accordance is moving towards a new user friendly format this year. I think implementation of this simple but needed feature would make the new user process that much more enjoyable and seamless.
