Fabian
Hello I know that in the Accordance help is a list with the supported Bible book names. But now I have import a html as User Tool and find out, that more Bible books are supported. I see that: Apg for Apostelgeschichte Hi for Hiob Esr for Ezra That was a surprise . So it were cool if more are supported like: 1Mo 2Mo 3Mo 4Mo Ri Richter for Jugdes 1Kö 1Kön 2Kö 2Kön Spr Sprüche Proverbs Jes Jesaja Klg Klagelieder Lamentation Hes Hesekiel Ezekiel Sach Sacharja Zecharja Ze for Zecharja 1Ko 2Ko Kol Php Philippus for Phil. Jak Jakobus James Jud Judas for Jude Off Offenbahrung Revelation And the full Loccumer Richtlinien. Even the german Notation 1Mo 1,1.2 And a Autolink only for Chapters. Fabian
Interesting Röm. 1,2 don't Accordance recognize by Auto-Link but if I link it by hand it imports correct and works fine. (Attention Röm. for Römer not Rom. for Romains) Greetings Fabian
Fabian
Hello Joel Its interesting some book names are supported with Auto-Links in the mobile version but not in 11.0.7 Please add the missing ones in 11.?.* Here a test with amynotes that I have written in my iphoneTest European Booknames.amynotes.zip I have then copy the list in User Tools of 11.0.7 and push Auto-Link. I was not able to save, something was hindering but I don't have search it. So you have to see self. Pics to recognize the difference: You can see the list what is supported from 2.2 and 11.0.7 is different. Please add the missing Auto-Links, that would be more than welcome. Interesting "Apg" for Apostelgeschichte is supported in 11.0.7 but not in 2.2, but "1Cor" is not supported in 2.2 but in 11.0.7 BUT in 2.2 is "1Kor" supported which is not in 11.0.7. So many are supported from both some only in one and some in one but not in the other. You have to look carefully to recognize the difference in some abbr. like Rom & Röm, 1Cor & 1Kor, Pet & Petr and so on... Fabian
Mmmh Apg 1,2 is supported in User Tools but not in User Notes as Auto-Link in 11.0.7 Greetings Fabian
Fabian
Hello Accordance folks I'm very happy that with 11.0.8 the "Apg" is able for search for the acts in the German Bibles verses. But now the "Apg" is not working anymore as Auto-Link nor will Accordance save it when I do it by hand. This works till 11.0.7 For the User Tools I had make in 11.0.7 it works but not for new in 11.0.8 I really would love when all German Bible books and their abbreviations are supported in: the search field, in User Tools, User Notes, User Notes on iOS, User Tools on iOS, and then on Android so that I can import German html's without hassle. There is a lot out there which is free. This would be a great welcome in the German speaking world. Its unnecessary to mention that there is a competitor out there which has no problem with this. PLEASE give a special attention for this topic in 11.1. See also the lists above. If there are more I will request it. Believe me! Greetings Fabian
Joel Brown
Fabian, Apg works just fine in User Notes. The verse references that are allowed are based on the current Hypertext settings for the User Note (done in the Command-T). If I set my primary Hypertext for the user note to Elberfelder-Lemmas, it works perfectly.
Fabian
Hello Joel This was more general: I really would love when all German Bible books and their abbreviations are supported in: the search field, in User Tools, User Notes, User Notes on iOS, User Tools on iOS, and then on Android so that I can import German html's without hassle. There is a lot out there which is free. This would be a great welcome in the German speaking world. Its unnecessary to mention that there is a competitor out there which has no problem with this. I found out, that in User Notes are more book names supported than in User Tools. In iOS other than in 11.0.8. And most recently unfortunately not all. My last comment refers to User Tool. See under pic. Fabian
I know it's tricky but I know you'll find a way. For the German Bible book names are MOST with a space between the numeral and the book name. e.g. 1 Sam or 1 Samuel 2 Sam or 2 Samuel 1 Kö or 1 Kön or 1 Könige 2 Kö or 2 Kön or 2 Könige and sometimes they have a dot or a dot and a space e.g. 1.Könige or 1. Könige 2.Könige or 2. Könige This would be very cool if you can add this to Accordance Greetings Fabian
Fabian
Hello Please look at this bug. The ref goes to Esther 4,12. It would be great if verse notations only will be recognized when there is a "(" or a "space" in front. Greetings Fabian
Fabian
Hello Joel Many thanks for debug the Apg in User Tools. Please add the others too. We have many files in German which we can add to Accordance. Strange: In the Notes of Accordance Mobile the 1Kor works but not in User Tools of 11.1 and so on. Fabian
If I add a html with the book abbr. "Apg" like Apg 1,2 then it comes correct as Bible-link. But if I open the Tool to edit something I can't it save with the "Apg" Even if I it will not save. Greetings Fabian PS. The Pop-up for the failure which then comes is empty. Fabian
Since we have now also User Tools, Papers and Notes etc. it would be great if the request also works there. System wide. I was thought about a new entry item in the preferences, where Accordance list all abbreviations and we can add on the right side our own. And more than one. If we can give our own. So can the users type their Book names in their language and Accordance recognize it by hove over in the Browser, by Importing a User Tool, in Papers etc. without the OakTree team has to write for all. In Addition this would be needed too https://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/18875-goto-box-improvements/?hl=unicode&do=findComment&comment=104113 Thanks for your attention Greetings Fabian

I like Fabian's suggestion. A lot! And I would extend it to export of all OT/NT references (texts, user resources, etc.). Just as an example, here are some differences between the default references and one of the fairly standards ways of formatting them in French: Matt. Mt Mark. Mc Luke. Lc John. Jn Acts. Ac Rom. Rm 1 Cor. 1 Co Even when I open Accordance with a French interface, many of these come out with English names (it's the case for all the above). And I further note that, since the latest update, the references add a full stop "." at the end of the book name, even when that name is not abbreviated. See above. I hope this can be fixed! DC Thanks to all at Accordance for their work. It is appreciated!
Joel Arnold
Really not a big deal, but worth asking. There isn't a way to copy references out in Chinese is there? So that instead of Gen. 5:3 I get 创5:3, for instance? The CUV with Strong's is pretty amazing, by the way. Thanks!

Here you have to do a Module request. The Latvian Bible is one which has Bible book names in unicode characters. But Accordance is right now not able to display it correct. There is a Bug Swatter https://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/18825-bible-2012-latvian-bug/?hl=latvian https://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/24970-possible-to-use-chinese-for-book-names/?p=122869 As a feature Request: https://www.accordancebible.com/forums/topic/21183-unicode-bible-book-names/?hl=%2Bunicode+%2Bbible+%2Bbook Greetings Fabian

Fabian
I would love if the automatic linking would support more German book names. Currently only a few are supported. Maybe it works only if the UI is on German to not come in trouble with others.

Fabian
Problem: On the internal.strings file the German Bible book names are not complete. As this is mentioned it the thread above. /* rsGermanBookNamesID */ "14200_1" = "1Mo, Gen"; "14200_2" = "1Mose, Gen"; "14200_3" = "2Mo, Ex"; "14200_4" = "2Mose, Ex"; "14200_5" = "3Mo, Lev"; "14200_6" = "3Mose, Lev"; "14200_7" = "4Mo, Num"; "14200_8" = "4Mose, Num"; "14200_9" = "5Mo, Deut"; "14200_10" = "5Mose, Deut"; "14200_11" = "Dtn, Deut"; "14200_12" = "Hld, Song"; "14200_13" = "Zef, Zeph"; "14200_14" = "Jud, Jude"; "14200_15" = "Hes, Ezek"; "14200_16" = "Hiob, Job"; "14200_17" = "Iob, Job"; "14200_18" = "Hi, Job"; "14200_19" = "Pred, Eccl"; "14200_20" = "Apg, Acts"; /* rsAltGermanBookNamesID */ "14201_1" = "Gen, 1Mose"; "14201_2" = "Ex, 2Mose"; "14201_3" = "Lev, 3Mose"; "14201_4" = "Num, 4Mose"; "14201_5" = "Deut, 5Mose"; "14201_6" = "Dtn, 5Mose"; "14201_7" = "Hld, Hohelied"; "14201_8" = "Ezek, Hes"; "14201_9" = "Iob, Hiob"; "14201_10" = "Ijob, Hiob"; "14201_11" = "Hi, Hiob"; "14201_12" = "Mk, Markus"; "14201_13" = "Apg, Apostel"; Mk for Markus is in but Mt for Matthäus, Lk for Lukas etc. etc. are missing. I see also on iternal.strings the new 13.1 external websites /* rsExternalWebsiteDefaultNames */ and /* rsExternalWebsiteDefaultLinks */ So why not doing a Preferences window for the different Bible Book names? As you can see for Job there are many different versions. Thats great. Because in German the Bible book names are not 100% specified. There is a list, but not all follows them. It would then also be possible for the French, Spanish, Italiano etc. to import user contents with Bible books in their languages, without converting all or doing all links by hand. The more international users the more this feature for importing user tools, PDFs etc. is needed. Thanks Greetings Fabian
