I need to export my notes but I get a message that there's a limit of a thousand verses. Any idea how I can export large notes files?

Not sure if this is an acceptable solution for you but you could use the print option then save it as a pdf.

Once saved as a pdf if you need to have it in a format you can edit then you can select all of it and copy it, although that might take a bit of time if it is a large amount of data.

Thanks, Steve. I guess it's one option if there's nothing better. It seems like it ought to be pretty easy to allow unlimited size exporting. I suppose there must be some sort of programming obstacle to doing that.

My understanding is that user notes/tools are going to be improved at some point. I think it would be good to have an export facility.

Try highlighting the portions you want from the User Notes pane, then go to File -> Save Text Selection -> RTF... and it will save the selected portion of  your user note to where you specify. It's a little tricky if you are trying to save your entire user note file. Once you cmd-A to select all, strangely only a portion of the user note is highlighted for me (10.2.1rc), but it successfully exports the whole file.

Yes, that is exactly what I have been doing for a long time. Apparently, though, once the user note file gets too large it won't do it any longer. The cut off seems to be 1000 verses.

Out of curiosity, why have you been exporting over 1000 verses regularly?  Naturally I would only expect small exports (due to recent changes), or a single large export (to move the notes to another application).

It's my daily devotional journal. I like to back it up elsewhere from time to time. And over the years it Is starting to build up into a small commentary.
