The iPad app comes with a version of ESV for iOS.

What's the difference between that version and the the ESVS in the Accordance Desktop? Any advantages of having both in the iPad? Which one is recommended that we have in the iPad?

Thanks

No difference in the text. I have both, use the desktop version on the iPad as it syncs the highlights.

They are the same text, except the module name (ESVi versus ESVS). If you have the ESVS on the desktop app I recommend using it on iOS for the reason Ken mentioned. We received permission from Crossway to bundle the ESVi with the iOS app royalty free, but used a different module name because that license does not allow you to use it on desktop.

I hope this helps to explain…

Yes, it does. I was already using the ESVS instead of the USVi I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right and not missing anything.

Thanks.

There is one drawback to the ESVs over the ESVi (and this is why I have both).

The daily reading app "reading plan" links to Accordance ESVi. If you just have ESVS the app will (or at least used to, I haven't tried for a few months) fail.

In ReadingPlan, Settings > Edit Bible Link > Accordance you can customize the text in the URL.

Hi Rick, Can you clarify how to do that? I look around and could not find it.

Thanks
