Hello everyone,

I am new to Accordance. Little by little I am learning new things about workspaces, zones, and panels, etc. I started to watch the Podcasts as well - very informative and well paced.  I have lots to learn in Accordance.

I have a workspace in which the Instant Details panel is on the right side, in vertical mode.  I also have the Library opened on the left side of my workspace.  See the two attached images below.  I also included screens of my settings for Worspace and Appearance.

The problem I am having is that I can't extend the width of the Library when the Instant Details pane is in vertical orientation. I change the Instant Details pane back to horizontal and can extend the Library width. But when the Instant Details pane is back to vertical mode, I can extend the Library only a tiny bit more. This issue occurs when the workspace is either maxed full-screen or minimized screen size. Is this normal system behavior, or, is it a bug, or, do I need to use the Library as a pop-over?

Also, from time to time I notice that the "+ Less..." for the Library Texts would disappear.  I would have to either remove the Library and bring it back again, or close Accordance and re-launch it.

I am enjoying the time I spend learning how to setup, customize, and use Accordance.  I am a layperson who has a strong interest in software applications for biblical research and studies.

Thanks,

David

David, I just confirmed this on my Surface Pro, and I think it's a bug. I never noticed it because I generally keep my instant details horizontal at the bottom of the screen. However, I was able to duplicate exactly what you described, and I know this isn't normal behavior in the Mac version.

Hi Rick,

Thank you for checking this issue on your Surface Pro. Are you using Win 7 or Win 8.x on that machine?  On the Mac, are you saying that the Library width extension works when the Instant Details panel is in vertical orientation?

thanks,

David

I'm running Windows 8.1, fully up-to-date on the Surface Pro.

And yes, on the Mac, I can slide the Library window significantly further to the right, even with the instant details in a vertical position.

Just a thought - is it by any chance just running out of horizontal space because the number of open zones across the screen ? I cannot see your whole w/s in the images you posted ?

Thx

D

Daniel, I tried it with only one text open between the library and instant details. The library window should not be that constrained.

David, I imagine that the Accordance PTB will see this thread if you don't want to go to the trouble of making a separate post in the bugs forum.

There is a sort of w/a but it has some risks. Basically if you resize the library first while ID is not present or horizontal get it the size you want then make the ID go vert. you'll be ok. See http://www.accordanc...showtopic=11578 for some interesting things that can happen if you play with this too much.
