Λύχνις Δαν
Hi ya, I use a laptop with an attached 24" display. I save a workspace with a particular layout of panes and close and Accordance. On reopening the workspace the library pane is often very narrow on the left and the ID pane at the bottom is often very thin. Now before saving I had resized them to the size I like. Resizing like this does not cause the File -> Save action to be active so I'll either use File -> Save As and overwrite the existing workspace file or I'll change something else like a search tab entry and then I save the workspace. But even so, on reopening, while it remembers which monitor it should be opened on Accordance, it does not reproduce the pane sizes of the the ID and library. I presume the other panes are also not sized precisely as they were because the overall window size fills the monitor still. This does not appear to be an issue - or perhaps not as much - on the Mac. I am not 100% sure that this is peculiar to the external display but a quick test indicates that the laptop's internal display does not have this problem. Perhaps that is why I do not see it on the Mac as it only has one display. Thx D
Timothy Jenney
Hi, Daniel! Try saving your layout as a session and see if that works for you. Let us know!
Λύχνις Δαν
Hi Tim, Tried that just now. No dice - same result I'm afraid. ThxD
Λύχνις Δαν
Here's something entertaining : I noticed both the ID and library panes seemed to shrink from the sizes I saved them at. I then wondered if one of them was taking precedence - nope. So then I tried something. Open the ws, resize the ID and save the session (not ws but as a session - though I don't think that matters, I mention it for the sake of completeness) then open it again - the ID has shrunk. Save the session again, close it, open it again - its shrunk further. Rinse and repeated - shrinks again. So it looks like its shrinking a bit against the save value on each reopen. Λύχνις Δαν
Bump It can get quite squished : Thx D Edited June 24, 2014 by Daniel Semler
Timothy Jenney
Daniel, I have encountered something like this before, but never to this extent. If I design a workspace where I really push the limits on number of panes and pane widths, Accordance will often struggle to open it. Sometimes one or more panes gets squished. It happens most often when I design the Workspace for one screen resolution (e.g. 1900x1200), then [re]open it in a smaller resolution (e.g. 1280x720). I'm wondering if you are designing your Workspace for your 24" monitor, then reopening it on a smaller monitor (your laptop?). It's the only thing I can think of. Λύχνις Δαν
Hi Tim, This image was taken from the 24" monitor after multiple iterations of the testcase above. I noticed the problem is still present on the latest beta and so I ran a couple of iterations to check for sure. It then got quite dramatic as in the image I posted. I don't know if anyone can repro. it but hopefully it's straightforward with a two screen setup. Thx D
