I have some "visual filers" created in Logos that take some of the morph searches I've done and displays the search results visually in a text. Does Accordance have any way to do this, or are Visual Filters more like a "crutch" and really something I shouldn't be using too heavily anyway when working with Biblical language texts (so I can better work with the text itself)? Plus with Instant Details and some of the Search Analysis features, I may be better off using those.

Thanks!

You may be able to reproduce this using the "highlight all hits" command in Accordance.  I would suggest creating one (or more) new Highlights sets for these.

Then run a search for the elements you want to be highlighted in a particular way--for example, a search for [VERB] will find all verbs.  Once the search is run, click on one of the hit items, right click/control click/two finger click to bring up the contextual menu, and choose "Highlight All Hits" then choose the highlight style you want.

I've done this for hapax, for example.

Running Accordance on:

Mac 10.9 (Mavericks)

iOS 7 (iPad)

Windows Vista Home Premium

Nathan,

You are better off not using visual filters, at least at the outset. However, if you want to narrow in on a verse and do a detailed analysis, try selecting the original language passage and making a diagram. Accordance highlights the various parts of speech in different colors to make diagramming easier.

Sounds good! I'll give Diagramming a try once I get to understanding the languages so I can better analyze passages. I agree I should drift away from Visual Filters. I'm wanting to better get a grip on the languages myself without just relying on software, lexicons, etc. I appreciate all of the "helps", but there's no substitute to taking the time and effort to learn the real thing. :-)

I will also check into the Highlight All Hits command as well just in case I need to use it.

Thanks!
