The option-click on a verse reference is a great feature.  I find myself using this more often than instant details to read the references in a tool as I keep Instant Details hidden most of the time.

At present, to invoke the reference 'balloon' you must hold option and click on each verse separately to get that reference to appear.  I would like to request that it be possible to hold option key and just scroll over the references and they automatically appear in a balloon without having to click on each one individually.  Or perhaps just clicking on the initial reference and then each subsequent reference only requires a scroll over as long as the option key is still pressed.

This would be especially nice for long reference strings that are found in the Cross References and new TSK module.

Thanks!

If you are interested in seeing lots of references, why not create an actual Instant Details zone, so all you have to do is hover over each reference and see the contents?  Its really ideal when you don't just want a quick Instant details lookup, like Option-click.

The Instant Details icon should be on your toolbar, but you can also find it in the Windows menu.

I also like to view instant details as a popover, it saves space on my small screen.  But I too have wished there was a way to make linked texts live or at least clickable in the instant details popover.

Joel,

Thank you for the response and suggestion.  I have experimented with your idea already but it just didn't 'work' for me.  I have a 13" macbook and my screen real-estate is prime.  To free up space I have the Instant Details hidden until I need it and invoke with the shortcut keys then hide it again when done.  Using the popover saves me a few keystrokes.

What is nice about the popover is that I don't have to open my Instant Details to use it and also I don't have to dart my eyes back and forth between two zones to read the references, which is very exhausting.  Just kidding about the exhausting part but it is nice to be able to keep your focus on one zone when going through the references.

I just thought it would be a nice touch to allow the popover to change with a hover over instead of having to click each time.  In any case, I am glad for the popover!

Thanks again, keep up the great work!

Remember that Instant Details can be detached and set to automatically fade when not in use: Preferences>Instant Details.

That's a very good point.  I set up a workspace just for TSK use and implemented your idea.  Being able to resize the Instant Details and place it where you want it to float is very nice indeed.  I set it close the reference list so there is no need to look in another part of the screen to see the reference displayed.

Thank you for the suggestion!

I never use instant details because there's no room on my 11" MacBook Air screen.  The problem with the automatic fade setting is that anytime my cursor flies over a word for even the briefest instant, instant details appears.  So as I scroll through a text, or browse here and there to different parts of the screen, the instant details pane basically flashes on and off like a strobe light! :)  It gets tiring for my eyes.

The popover usually fixes this for almost all my needs.  My only disappointment has been that links are not clickable in popovers.  I'd still love to see clickable links implimented sometime!

Thanks,

Randy
