I have a tabbed workspace that I'm setting up. I would like to have one of the tabs be my Hebrew studies tab. I would like my BHS-W4, Halot and NIDOTTE all in the same tab.

For some reason, I can't seem to set it up that way. Halot and NIDOTTE keep opening in their own tab.

Any help?

The only windows with multiple panes are Search, Text, and Reference list windows (apart from the Parallels) and these are all based on one text with parallel panes for other texts, or for reference tools or user notes. Lexicons cannot scroll in parallel with the text, so we have never added them in the same window or tab.

What you can do is make a workspace with your Hebrew tabs, save it as a favorite and amplify to it as needed.

Thanks Helen. This is unfortunate. While I can understand the limitation of Lexicons not scrolling, I did envision a scenario where the Greek or Hebrew text was scrolling along with my main text and the lexicons simply being open on the same tab as the scrolling text. Probably asking for too much but the new arrangeable windows had me all excited.

Tom,

You can always have a separate window containing a lexicon and tile it so that it appears side by side with your Workspace.

Tom,

Here is an example of what David is talking about. The only thing that would make this set up better is if we could have tabbed workspaces and still have the triple click open in another window (ie in my NIDNTT window and have all other lexicons linked to that window). There may be a way to do this, but I have not figured it out yet. So what I have set up is my BDAG in its own tab in my main workspace, then I have the NIDNTT and Trench-Synonyms is two separate windows which are linked to BDAG. I would like to which BDAG and Trench-Synonyms if the triple click would take me right to the BDAG window. I also have a session set up for Old Testament and one for a more broad study of the whole Bible.

Hope this helps.

Justin,

In the Appearance settings of the Preferences, you'll find a checkbox which reads "Confine hypertext to the same workspace." When checked, this will confine any triple-click or amplify actions to the current workspace. Uncheck this, and you can break your BDAG window out of the workspace as well.

David,

Thanks!!! That worked awesome. The problem I was having was that I was not "detaching" the tab from my original workspace, but rather creating a new workspace with BDAG. Thank you.
