I have been having problems with the User Tool hierarchical titles marked with 'red T'. As I do homework and/or take notes I place the 'red T' in the margin at the places I would like to separate and organize my information. The problem is, when I edit within the text (especially when I copy and paste, and type in or paste in greek, hebrew, or rosetta fonts), all my 'red T's' from that point on disappear and I loose my hierarchical organization and have to scroll through and put them back in. This is a BIG pain in the neck.

I could not figure out how to stop this from happening in the help menu or the user's manual.

Am I missing something? Is this a bug that needs to be fixed? Please advise.

Using 8.1.3, OS 10.4.11

We'll look into it. You may have given us a needed clue with the pasting of the other fnts.

I've had the same issue. It happens when you edit something within the text. Two examples:

1) I kept a journal, with the newest entry on top (so I wouldn't have to scroll to the bottom). But half the time (not always) the red 'T's would disappear.

2) I had the red 'T's disappear when I changed the font style (via copy and paste style) of a heading. All the 'T's below it disappeared.

I am glad that you're working on this issue, hope my two bits can be clues.

Well, I think the new updates since my original post have fixed this problem. I've noticed. Thanks. I've been using User Tools again and taking notes and doing homework in them exclusively (accept for writing formatted research papers, but I do collect all my data and write all research notes for my papers in these tools). They are a fantastic feature. The links to other modules and other kinds of files on my computer has also been extremely useful. Anyway, I've lost my fear of losing my browser organization which, in my opinion, is one of the most important capabilities of this feature.

Also, being able to search my User Tools according to font has also bee very helpful. I took an introductory Akkadian class this semester and after I learned all the keyboard strokes for Rosetta, I did all of my homework in a User Tool. In later lessons when there were words or forms I couldn't remember I could simply search for them in the Rosetta font and find where I had typed it before and how I had parsed and translated the form. And now that the class is over I have a User Tool with a bunch of Hammurapi's laws typed in transliteration that I can search for words cognate with Hebrew or compare the original language of a law with that in the Torah. And I don't have to crack a single book to do it!

Thanks again for the updates. I eagerly look forward to what you come up with in the future!
