Okay...I'm sure this is an easy one and I'm simply missing it. How can I do a search, say in the NRSV, for an English word like "foreigner" and get a concordance result that will show me the different Hebrew and/or Greek words and where they are used--something like Young's Literal Concordance?

Jimmy,

You might try checking out the thread entitled "Can Accordance do this? Search question" from Jun 2. The directions David Lang provided worked for me. He turned the answer into a blog entry on June 2 (Can Accordance do this? Search question). I believe the same principles will work in either the Hebrew or the Greek when you are using a tagged text when using the NRSVS which you should have.

Jimmy,

It looks like Diggertoo is referring to this blog post which does something slightly different than what you are asking about.

First, as Diggertoo mentioned, you will need the NRSVS, not just the NRSV. The NRSVS is the NRSV with key number tagging.

Then, do a search of the NRSVS for foreigner
Click on the details button
Choose the Analysis tab, and you will see the results you asked for. I've attached a screen shot.

Note that the Old Testament tagging for the NRSVS is not completed, so results there may not be entirely accurate (in that some words may be missing) at this time.
