I would like to see images/diagrams display full size inline with the text by default. By tool, allow me to set % image size in the same way/place you allow me to set tool font size, etc..

Sure, you can still click to get a nice big full size image in a separate window/tab, but PLEASE don't make me interrupt my reading! Specifically, the use of study bibles, IVP-NB Atlas, ZPEB, various bible dictionaries, and especially Accordance's own PhotoGuide! The thumbnails are driving me bananas! Am I really the only one!!!

WHY SHOULD ACCORDANCE CARE? IT IS ALL ABOUT THE TEXT!
I know, understand and love Accordances focus on the text, but for Accordance Tools, many of them have images or figures/diagrams that are essential to the understanding of the text. Shucks, Photo Guide is all about images! Doing this will raise the overall impression of accordance to new users, open up the sales of existing tools (I personally have zero interest in paying over $100 for a tool like Biblical World in Pictures to view a bunch of thumbnails!), and open up the ability to develop and sell new tools.

DON'T FORGET USER TOOLS AND NOTES!
Fret not, I don't want you to get into the image editing business in the same way I don't want you to get into the word processing business.

I DO want to be able to add my own images/diagrams to user tools and notes. To start, parity with the current image functionality would be great, but I must admit, I want to be able to view my images, not just thumbnails.

Mike,

I'm sorry to take a few days to respond to this request, but we weren't quite sure what to make of the tone of your post. You did a lot of shouting in all caps and seemed to assume that we don't care about how users interact with graphics.

When we first supported images in tools, we actually began by generating a scaled version of the image in the tool, but computers were slower back then, and it resulted in an unacceptable level of performance. We therefore went to generating thumbnails. I hope, at least, that you have set your tool display preferences to use the large thumbnails. That might alleviate at least some of your frustration.

In terms of displaying a scalable version of the image, we will certainly consider it. The only reason we haven't done it before now is not that we don't care about images, but that we simply haven't had many requests for it and we've had other priorities.

We have had a great many requests for the ability to add images to user tools and user notes, and it is therefore already on our to-do list.

I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
David Lang

So, would this include jpg's, pdf's, and the like?

Rob,

We won't know the supported formats until we're actually developing that feature. At this point, we certainly plan to support JPEGs. I'm less certain about other formats. We'll do our best to support multiple formats provided doing so doesn't distract us from other higher priority features. It's certainly unlikely that we'll support all of them. That's what Graphic Converter is for! ;)

Apologies for the All CAPS miscommunication. They were meant to be headers, not shouting.

Even then, I realize my tone was coming out of frustration still. Please forgive me. I know you care, if I didn't believe you did, I wouldn't have said a thing.

I greatly appreciate your response. Next time I'll refrain from posting while under the influence of great frustration :)

It is great to hear that I'm not the only one in addition to it being on your radar.

Thanks,

Mike
