We are requesting that you register with your real name, as we feel it is appropriate for this type of message board. However, we cannot require this, and we recognize that some people have valid reasons for not posting their actual names on these forums.

We can change your user name for you either way. Your posts and password would not be affected. Just email me with the old and new name, and I can take care of it.

I just registered a few days ago, and remember nothing on the registration page about requesting the username to be a real name. I just used my normal username and avatar that I use just about everywhere. You might want to consider modifying the registration page with your request (or else, I just missed it... :-)

I did add my real name and identification to the signature.

If you want to change my username, that's fine with me.

Although, just to say that not everyone uses usernames on forums like this in order to hide their identity. Often the username is a statement of an interest or a joke or something.

Take mine: I've been a StarTrek fan since 1967. With a first name like mine, the choice of a username is a natural one. Or, for another example, my google email account is <empirical.humanist@gmail.com>, which is a statement about my academic commitments and a joke since most folk would consider "empirical humanist" to be an oxymoron...

 How can I refuse Capn Kirk? We are also Star Trek fans.

However, I renew my plea to everyone to use your real full name as your user name. The registration page does request it.

If you want me to change your user name, just let me know. It will make my day. ;)

Could I make a suggestion that anyone who works for, represents, or is affiliated with OakTree use their full name on the forum. I see no disadvantage. I feel like the transparency is much appreciated by the user community.
