I selected the following from article and copied as Citation:
Matt. reports only Jesus’ criticism of the attempt to obtain public praise and acknowledgment in the giving of alms (Poor NT) (Matt. 6:1-4), but Lk. has the definite teaching: alms instead of ritual purity (Lk. 11:41, in an argument with the Pharisees), and lays down as a rule for the disciples and the church the giving away of one’s possessions to the poor (Lk. 12:33). In Acts Tabitha (Acts 9:36) and Cornelius (10:2) are singled out for their charity and as recipients of singular blessing.
The Citation looked like this:
“Preface,” NIDNTT, n.p.
The problem, of course, is that this text is not from the Preface, but from the article on "Mercy, Compassion."
I know you all are busy right now, so there's no hurry. For my purposes, copying as a User Tool link works fine (I'm pasting the quote into a User Tool), but I thought it should be reported.
