Dr. J., I am sure you have the next several, if not multiple podcasts slated in the up coming weeks, but may I request a synopsis on the User's Conference? For less fortunate souls, such as myself, who were not able to attend, it would be nice to get a second hand report from someone on the conference (maybe some others could chime in as sort of a symposium dialogical podcast?).

If you can't due to time constraints, I certainly understand.

Thanks!

I too am in the unfortunate category... standby flights from SFO were non-existent on Friday and Sat morning (Security lines went all the way to the Int'l terminal from the United terminal!)

It would be great to get a synopsis, and also to hear from attendees what they most enjoyed the most.

I enjoyed the entire conference. The lectures were spot-on with practical help. I went to some of the "popular lectures", and a few of the "advanced" lectures. Had no trouble with any of the advanced lectures, except for the syntactical lecture on Saturday afternoon. That lecture went over my head, but I think that some of my problem was that (a) I am not proficient in Greek or Hebrew and (B) the lecture showed me that I have quite a few deficiencies in my knowledge of ENGLISH grammar.

Still, I enjoyed the entire conference, and if there is a second annual conference, I plan to attend. NOTE: there was talk about having the second conference in Florida. I had never been to Dallas before, and whether the next conference is Dallas vs Florida, still plan to attend.

My favorite speaker was Dr. Michael Wallace -- his work on the Dead Sea Scrolls was fascinating. Bought both of his books, and he graciously autographed them.

Note: you may already be aware, but Dr Wallace debated Bart Ehrman a few years ago. That debate is not yet available, but Dr. Wallace indicates that it will be published by a company called ?Fortress SOON.

Tired --I got into Michigan, and had to do some work at my office, so that Monday is not in total shambles -- but it was time and effort well-spent.

NOTE: most of the attendees were from Texas, but much of the US was represented: ALASKA, MINNESOTA, MICHIGAN (two Michiganders including me) and DELAWARE.

The new syntactical modules add LOTS of complex search options to the construct window. Right now, the Hebrew module only covers Genesis, and the Greek module covers the Gospel of John. My understanding is that more texts will be added.
