If I am reading a bible and my notes in parallel, how do I close the notes pane when I'm through? As of right now it seems like I have to close the whole session and start over again fInding the passage I want.

Tap the same plus button you used to open the pane to close it, or simply drag the divider to the bottom of the screen.
