I have the ESV and the NIV2011 cross references, but they are quite skimpy. I was looking for something more on the order of the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge. I see that there is an exhaustive cross reference module that is part of the basic English studies package for Accordance 9. I have a few basic questions.

1. It appears that the only way to buy the exhaustive cross reference tool is to buy the whole basic English studies package. Is that true?

2. Can I edit that cross reference list to add my own cross references to the list? If not, is there any way to do such a thing? What is the best way for me to add my own cross references to Accordance so that they are easily accessible within Accordance? (some sort of user tool, or within the notes?)

3. Is this the best (most exhaustive) cross reference list in Accordance?

Yes, that is correct. It is available in the Basic Group on Primary 9.

You can't edit that list, but you could create a Notes file just for your own cross references. And they would be hyperlinked, too!

To my knowledge, yes. Here is a screenshot with the Accordance Cross Reference module (furthest on the left) compared to some of the others:

Now, having said that, I've never used the Thompson Chain Reference module, but I suppose it might have a good selection of cross references. However, I confess I've never taken the time to explore the Thomson Chain Reference System too much.

Hi, Bret.

1) Yes, the Exhaustive Cross References tool is only available as part of the BASIC group, and not sold individually.
2) You can't edit the tool, but putting your cross references into a User Note would work wonderfully. The note can scroll along with your text, and any scripture links you mark in the note would be live, enabling you easy access to the passages they refer to.
3) As far as I am aware, it is the most exhaustive we currently have available, but I could very well be wrong on this, and others may correct.

Thanks for the replies and help. Just wondering, is there a reason why some modules (such as the cross reference) can only be purchased as part of a larger package, and not individually, while others can be purchased individually?

Our policy was to put some modules together in groups, as it simply wasn't worth the overhead of offering each one as a separate unlock/installer/download for a reasonable price. However, with the advent of Easy Install we do plan to start offering some breakout modules from the groups, for Easy Install only. Look for a few Bibles that have been requested, as part of the Bible a Day Sale, and then some more. We can certainly offer the Cross References this way.

The prices will be low but the caveat is that there will be no credit if you later decide to buy the entire group or the level that includes the module.

Thanks for the explanation Helen. So am I to understand that the cross-reference will be offered as a stand alone module? And if so, is there an idea of the general time?
