Any reason why the New Atlas shows the modern (very low) sea level for the Dead Sea?
I understand that over time coastlines and rivers and lakes change their shape, but to include the modern salt flats in the southern part of the Dead Sea in a "Bible" atlas is an anachronism!

Unfortunately we have been unable to acquire satellite data from 2000 years ago. 
The backgrounds are based on satellite data so they do reflect what is now. Hence Miletus, the port of Ephesus is inland because the delta has filled up over the years. There are reservoir lakes visible which certainly were just rivers back then. The PhotoGuide explains some of these anomalies.
