After reading the last Accordance blog on customization, I wanted to share with everyone some cool things that I am doing with Accordance 10 and an app I found called "better touch tool." Basically, for anything that has a shortcut command, you can create a gesture. Here are some that I am using.

1) Since the Library opens on the left side of the screen, I now tap on the middle left portion of the trackpad to open and close the library.
2) Since the instant details opens on the bottom of the screen. A simple tap in the middle bottom of the trackpad opens and closes the instant details.
3) A two finger swipe switches between zones.
4) A three finger double tap closes the active tab.
5) I maximize a tab by tapping in the top-left corner. That's where the Acc 9 maximize button was. Now its in the top right, but I'm just used to doing that.
6) A tap in the top right sends me to the search all, which is where I have the button on the toolbar. It would probably make sense to switch it with the maximize shortcut, since I can customize the toolbar.
7) I pinch to zoom in on the map and squeeze to zoom out.

That kind of sums up the ones I use. Numbers 1 and 2 are new for Acc 10. Does anyone else use this app? If so, how?

Never got into BTT, but use Better Snap Tool all the time. I think it's brilliant.

Does a different job though. It allows keyboard shortcuts for window management. Just fabulous. (No pecuniary interest, just a happy user)

I've been hoping for more multi-touch gestures in Accordance. Now I can design my own. :-)

I hadn't used Better Touch Tool before this thread, but I think that it offers some interesting possibilities for Accordance. At the moment, I'm using the following simple gestures:

1) A single tap in the top left of the trackpad shows and hides the library
2) A single tap in the top right of the trackpad shows and hides the toolbar
3) A single tap in the bottom right of the trackpad shows and hides the instant details bar
4) A two-finger swipe to the right moves to the next tab
5) A two-finger swipe to the left moves to the previous tab
6) Pinching in and out opens and closes reading mode

I'm sure that there are many more options with this tool, but I've found that it's particularly helpful in maximizing my screen real estate. For me, the keyboard shortcuts to show and hide the toolbar and instant details bar were a little awkward.

Didn't realize you could hide the toolbar! I like the reading mode option as well. I think I'll be adding those since I'm on a 13" screen most of the time. Thanks!

Hey - I finally got around to playing with BetterTouchTool. Great app. I started with Jordan "s and Matthew's suggestions and modified for my use.

1) Single Finger Tap Top Left - Library toggle (that's where the Library shows up; makes good sense)
2) Single Finger Tap Top Right - Toolbar toggle
3) Single Finger Tap Left Side Middle - Detach Zone
4) Single Finger Tap Left Side Middle - Maximize Zone toggle (my new zones alway open below the one I started with so the "Maximize" icon shows up on the right middle of my screen)
5) Single Finger Tap Bottom Left - Instant Details toggle
6) Single Finger Tap Bottom Right - Highlights palette
7) TipTap Right - Next tab
8) TipTap Left - Previous tab

For the life of me, I was unable to do a two-finger swipe left or right to go between tabs without having my text panes scroll. (I am NOT known for my grace and coordination, but I do play the piano and my fingers are coordinated; it's the rest of me that is klutzy.)

These are the things I use most often. Since I use the three finger swipe to navigate between spaces, I've stayed clear of it for other uses.
