Hi there,
its not a pleasure for a german user to use Accordance "read out"-function. When we have a german text like romans 1,8 it says:
"Zuerst danke ich meinem Gott durch Jesus Christus für euch alle, dass man von eurem Glauben in aller Welt sprich"
(I used the LUTH-LEM text, version 1.1)
The red word "für" is read out by Accordance as "f r" so the umlauts ä ö ü wont be read out by Accordance at all..
I tested it with all 3 german voices in Mountain Lion - when I use the read out function from Safari the umlauts will be read out normal.
This is not a "emergency" bug to fix.. but it would be nice to have it fixed someday.

We use standard Apple technology for the reading, except for Greek and Hebrew. However, the text is not in Unicode, and it may be that this is what Apple is expecting. I am not sure that we can find a solution.

The speaking bug has been fixed and overall speaking will be much better in the next revision of Accordance (probably 10.0.2).
Thanks for the report,
