I was wondering if any of the more advanced Mac users out there had figured out a way to let other Mac apps interact with Accordance? For example, I would love to be able to highlight a scripture reference, right-click/control+click and look up a passage. I'm using Accordance 9 if it matters.

The Accordance widget will do exactly that. You can download it from the Accordance Installers page.
