In version 10, each pane has a text size tool icon, an interlinear icon (if the pane module supports it) and a drop down menu for various things (including adding the interlinear!).
When the pane gets small the text size icon is the first to disappear from the panes that have all three icons.
I am putting my vote in for keeping that one in and dropping off the others.
