I don't know if this is a problem with the ASV or Accordance as a whole, but:
I am using Arial, a font that should display italics. But I keep finding the text without italics.
I can cure it for a while by going to Preferences,
changing to Times New Roman, which displays italics,
then going back & changing back to Arial.
Then the italics display -- at least for a while.
I thought maybe this problem arises
when I change the ASV to a different version, using the text select window at the left of the screen, in the bottom tool bar. Then I change back to ASV & lose the italics that way.
However, I tried this with the ESV (which apparently has no italics) and did not reproduce the problem that way.
So, I don't know what causes this problem nor if it only concerns the ASV.

I suspect the prblem lies in the FontBook application, and that you have duplicate Arial fonts there. You can try resolving duplicates in FontBook, or just use a different font for the ASV.

I first noticed the problem and was informed that some fonts won't show italics (thanks). Then I changed to Arial. I probably was using whatever is Accordance default when I noticed this problem. I checked Fontbook & only saw one Arial. So the mystery continues. I don't know if this problem arose when I upgraded to version 10 or not.
