When I do a verse search in Accordance 10.1.1 with the following argument

Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; 40:3; Jeremiah 31:15; Hosea 11:1; Micah 5:2; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:1-4; John 1:1-18; Matthew 1:1-17; Luke 3:23-38; Luke 1:1-80; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 2:1-38; Matthew 2:1-23; Luke 2:39-40; Luke 2:41-52; 1 Corinthians 15:1–6; 1 Timothy 1:15–17; John 3:16-17

I get the following error

The book "Corinthians" cannot be found.

When I search for just the last part of the above, namely,

Luke 2:41-52; 1 Corinthians 15:1–6; 1 Timothy 1:15–17; John 3:16-17

the search performs as expected.




When I search for just the first part of the argument, namely,

Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; 40:3; Jeremiah 31:15; Hosea 11:1; Micah 5:2; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:1-4; John 1:1-18; Matthew 1:1-17; Luke 3:23-38; Luke 1:1-80; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 2:1-38; Matthew 2:1-23; Luke 2:39-40; Luke 2:41-52

the search performs as expected.



Can anyone spot an error in the first argument? Or is there trouble parsing it for some reason? Or is something else going on?

We generally try to support "1 Corinthians", but it can sometimes be a bit tricky to manage the space when dealing with longer or more complicated reference lists. Even though we support it, its always more reliable to remove the space. So try using 1Corinthians instead, see how that goes.

I discovered that when I "close up" the two previous Luke passages that were contiguous, combining them into one reference and shorten the book name for Corinthians, the search works. So the following works

Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; 40:3; Jeremiah 31:15; Hosea 11:1; Micah 5:2; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:1-4; John 1:1-18; Matthew 1:1-17; Luke 3:23-38; Luke 1:1-80; Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 2:1-38; Matthew 2:1-23; Luke 2:39-52; 1 Cor 15:1–6; 1 Timothy 1:15–17; John 3:16-17
