The former way of marking texts was to option-click on the text. This was very quick. The new way is much slower. It either takes two hands lifted away (cmd-7) from the mouse (trackpad) or is more complicated by having to click then drag for each verse selected.
I wish that there was a option to have something like control-option-cmd-click that keeps the right hand on the mouse (trackpad) and is much quicker.

I believe the programmers did this so that Accordance 10 would allow users to access Instant Details as a pop-up. I leave it to one of them to respond to your request for a more comfortable keyboard shortcut. I'll admit that Cmd-8 [not 7] is a bit of a stretch, but I've found I can manage it with one hand.
