Per some other recent threads, I now have 1.6 on both my iPad 2 and my iPhone 4.

 

As best I can tell, Dropbox syncing is working brilliantly on the former but not the latter. It gives every impression of syncing, and after the first time it instantly reports that there's nothing to sync (as one would expect). However the most recent entries in my notes are missing on the iPhone, so it pretty certainly isn't updating from the Dropbox files. (But it will still sync successfully with my mac over wifi.)

 

It may help to isolate any possible bug if I mention that the user data in Dropbox was initially created by syncing with Dropbox on the iPad. I installed it on the iPhone a day later. The iPhone app appears to correctly locate the existing dropbox files - but as I said it doesn't update its data from it.

If you sync with Dropbox on your iPad does it also show that there is nothing to sync?

Well it does when there really is nothing to sync. But when there is something it syncs (and I get a Dropbox notification on my mac saying the file was updated to the latest version).

 

But the iPhone … Now wait a minute ...

 

Ah, let's start again. … I now suspect that what really happened was that when I was adding some notes on the iPad last night, it didn't actually update the file in Dropbox at the time automatically. I assumed it had done that, and I then I did a wifi sync to the mac this morning. The app update and sync on the iPhone followed next. I was expecting it to update on sync because I thought the Dropbox file had last night's additions (which it presumably in fact didnt). I've just now manually synced the iPad to dropbox - and it seems to have completed something called 'final task', before reporting sync completed. I then synced the iPhone with the same result.

 

So, problem solved … and I'll start another thread.
