I do some typing of Hebrew mainly as annotations to pdf documents. I use the Qwerty Hebrew keyboard setting on my Macbook Air which generally works very well, but I can't find how to type a maqqef. Does anyone know?
Thanks in advance.

Nick,
The maqef is typed using shift-dash. In version 10, the character menu is easily accessed by going to the "window-characters" menu. Clicking on any item in the menu will place it in the search area, or hovering over the item will show you the keyboard combination you need to produce the character. The font you'll want to use for Hebrew is "yehudit".

Hi Nick and Mark,
Mark is completely correct when using Yehudit, and this is probably the easiest overall, but I find that using Unicode and the Hebrew QWERTY is generally better. If you are using the Hebrew QWERTY keyboard, the OPTION-\ will give you ־.
Hope that helps.

Many thanks Mark and Ken. That's done the trick.
