And it may help for me to make something clear here, especially for others.
The idea behind the hierarchical levels is that the Predicate Phrase contains a Predicate and then lower level Phrases (i.e., Complements and Adjuncts). So you cannot simply throw a Complement (the item, not the Phrase) directly into a Predicate Phrase. You must use the Complement Phrase first, and then if you want to specify the Complement (e.g., as a noun, or as a specific lexical item), then you put the Complement item into the Complement Phrase.
It is only as the top level of the clause that there are items at "equal" levels: Subject - Predicate - Casus Pendens (Dislocation) - Vocative.
