Smarter Error Messages

Several Accordance error messages could be refined to be more user friendly.

Example #1: "The speech selection is too large. Speech is limited to 100 verses (or paragraphs in a tool) at one time."

Since Accordance has done the math to count the verses, why not automatically select those 100 verses after the error message so the user can continue easily and immediately. It is primitive to force the user to 'count' the verses to gain maximum chunks. I'd also suggest this limit is too low for recent generation computers with 1-2 Gig of memory. Couldn't this limit of memory be calculated real time?

Example #2: When ever, or why ever, Accordance has lost the location of a module, why doesn't it always do a default search in the 'Modules' folder of the 'Accordance folder.' It is time consuming and redundant to point to files that are already in the correct location. Since Accordance knows the name of the file that it has lost, why not one standard look here action before displaying the message? It would make a better user experience. :)

Mick:

I am sure that you can find many messages that could be replaced by actions on the part of Accordance. However, each action would require a lot of programming, thus distracting the developers from other tasks like new features and bug fixes.

We have implemented some smarter messages, like offering to switch from Verse search to Word search when the entry does not match a book name. We will look at your ideas, and may implement others if they are relatively easy to do and would affect people relatively often.
