Corey Farcas
Using Automator and Accordance 1) Creating Accordance Services At present I there is not Accordance action in my Automator. I'm not sure why. But I would like to create my own automators to do the following: (a) select text (Hebrew or Greek) and look it up in a certain text or lexicon and ( select multiple verses and have the text from those verses be inserted. 2) Creating automated searches for Accordance to perform I have seen Joe Weaks blog post from 2005 on Criteria for Analyzing Author's Style, where he lists out all the searches he wants to do and clicks go and everything goes all by itself. How can I do this? Step by step directions will be most helpful. Joe Weaks
1) Are you saying that you're running Accordance 10.4.3 and when you open Automator you do not have the Accordance Actions available for creating Automator Workflows? What version of OSX are you running... 10._? 2) Joe Weaks has a newer blogpost on automating batch searches: Batch Searching in Accordance Bible Software that might help you more in the right direction. davidmedina
Joe, can Automator be use to do some integration between Scrivener and Accordance? For example, if I I've a Bible or a book reference in Scrivener could it be use so when I click the reference in Scrivener it opens that reference in Accordance? Corey Farcas
Just updated. Accordance now shows up in Automator – Thanks! I just watched the newer blog on Batch Searching in Accordance Bible Software but not sure how to write the script for that. Direction on writing and running scripts for these kinds of searches? Joe Weaks
David, You can use the Services in Scrivener, sure. And, yes, you could use Automator to accomplish even more automation in Scrivener.
davidmedina
Awesome! Any suggestion as far as tutorials that may show me how to go about it? Thanks,
davidmedina
Hey Joe, I gotcha now. I see that the new Accordance service work perfectly within Scrivener allowing me to open the verse and do searches in Accordance from Scrivener. Really cool. I am going to have to learn some automator now.
