Weak Verb search string gets garbled

I know I am missing something minor, but can someone help me with this search string?

I am using the following strings (gleaned from a previous posting)

* y?? @ [VERB] will find I-yod (or pe-yod)

* n?? @ [VERB] will find I-nun (or pe-nun)

* ??h @ [VERB] will find III-heh (or lamed-he)

* ??(ahwy)? @ [VERB] will find II-gutturals

But when I try to copy in the above lines, or try to type them in manually, the string gets inserted in reverse order or in a garbled order. How can I enter them exactly as they are above?

Thanks!

Karyn

When I copy just the highlighted strings, the searches work fine for me in Word search mode in BHS-W4 in Accordance 7.1, except for the last one, where I've reversed the parentheses.

If I were typing them from scratch, I'd enter the root with wildcards, press cmd-shift-t (the shortcut for manual Tag Entry), and then type verb in the resulting brackets.

OK, re-reading your query, I wonder if you actually wanted [VERB] to appear first/rightmost in the entry box--is that part of the issue? Also, might you have Caps Lock down accidentally on your keyboard?

OK, I knew it was something simple!

I was being too literal and copied in the asterisk with the search string.

I still get the "reversal" of the elements of the string, but the search works.

Thanks.
