What is the HIghest Resolution of Accordance possible on display?

I am not sure if this is a feature of Accordance or not, or if it is simply a matter of monitor & computer; but I am wondering what is the highest resolution of Accordance possible? In other words, would it make a clearer display to use a 4K or 5K monitor, or do you get no benefit above some monitor resolution (e.g, 1080p)? Does the Accordance program itself dictate an upper limit to monitor resolution?

Interesting that when I checked the resolution of my computer, no list of choices came up -- maybe the new versions of Mac X (I have 10.9.2) don't give you a choice, but figure it out for you -- I no longer see a display icon on the top tool bar anymore.

With my set up I have difficulty seeing the choices between verse & word (the lack of contrast between white font & blueish-grey background seeming a very unnecessary obstacle) as well as reading what I put in the search box due to font size being rather small at best for my setup.

BTW, is there anyway to change the grey on white search window so that the words in the search string are black instead of grey (on white)? After I wrote that, I put the mouse on that window and typed something & suddenly the grey turned black; so I guess there must be some cause for them being grey at times & black at times.

Accordance does include retina assets for the MacBook Pro with retina line. Not sure if it has been enabled for the new 5K iMacs yet. Beyond the interface elements though the maximum resolution would be system dependant.

I believe the text in a search box is black when it is active and you are typing and turns to grey once the search is complete and focus is moved to the results. This is standard for most search windows in OS X. See finder.

Does it appear to you that the resolution is better than with a 1080p monitor? I just ordered an iMac 5K, but I am wondering if the 5K will hardly be effective because the signal source is not up to 5K -- like if you watch a TV program via EyeTV, but the TV broadcast doesn't come up to 5K (& I doubt that any broadcast does), you would not get any better picture -- thus I wonder.

I guess from Jeremy's helpful comment, the application (Accordance) does govern the max resolution you can get.

So from what you say, the application (Accordance) does limit the useable resolution of a monitor? I have no ldea what "retina assets" would be. Does that mean resolution?

The majority of your accordance workspace will be rendered at whatever the screen resolution is, since text will be rendered by the system. Accordance won't be a limit on this at all.

The "assets" are the graphical interface elements and Accordance provides both normal resolution and retina (2x) assets. What this does is allows you to run at very high resolutions (2880x1800 on the 15inch MacBook Pro for example) and not have the graphical elements appear exceedingly small. Bottom line, for a largely text based program like Accordance a retina screen is a significant upgrade :)

I'd be interested in hearing from someone with a 5K display (or two). Is there any practical limit to the number of zones, parallel panes, or other Accordance Workspace elements on this size display?

A screenshot would be really nice...

I got the same experience from the 5k that I got when I moved to the iPad with retina: using Accordance was prettier and easier on the eyes.

The "closer you get, the better we look"? :)

Strange. I was trying to use the "Quote" feature here in making a response, but every time I push the Quote box, instead of doing the Quote process, I get at top center of my window a little green rectangular box with 3 white squares in it! Vot der dumboozle?

I got a 5K iMac. Thus far I see no difference in Accordance except very clear letters and Hebrew. It is nice on the eyeballs. I haven't tried maxing out the panes yet. I guess a way to do that may be to activate the A-bomb function of Accordance whereby you click on a folder in the library & suddenly the Sorcerer's Apprentice activates, with all the modules in the folder activating as you reach for Force Quit! Or has that been fixed? (At least Accordance should provide the background music when this happens.)
