Table of content suggestions

Hey Helen et al.,

Problem 1:

I can't see hardly any of the table of contents' actual contents.

Suggested solution 1a:

Double click the line separating TOC from the book's content and have the line move as wide as the last character (just like as in Finder).

Suggested solution 1b:

Wrap the text. Just like when you make a text pane smaller it doesn't go off the page, do the same with the text of the TOC.

Problem 2:

When I "Magnify" the zone I want to see the TOC of, Accordance freaks out, because I drag the line (manually) over to see the TOC's contents, but then when I try to minimize the zone's magnification it tells me that I need to either "close the browser or reduce the size."

Suggested solution 2:

Make the pop-up give you two control options: on the left side put "close the browser" and on the right side put "reduce my table of contents' size for me." This way, enter reduces the TOC for me (without having to manually click and drag the line back), and clicking on the other option just closes it for me.

Just trying to make life easier for all of us :)

Thanks!

Hey Dustin,

try turning off the “Suppress tool browser auto-sizing” checkbox in the Appearance section of preferences.

It won’t solve issue 2, but should ease issue 1. I have run across issue 2 as well.

Another solution I would add to seeing the TOC might be to show the line of text as a tooltip when hovering over with the mouse.
