dlrude
Hi all, This is going to be a really dumb question I admit it. Here is an example scenario. Occasionally I am reading and after a while I see a word and I think "hmm I just saw that a little while ago where was that?". Then I scroll back and can't find where it was. Next step is to search the entire text for that word and find umpteen million entries (ok I exaggerate) all over the place, then look for ones in the book that I was reading, locate the correct one, remove the search term and then go back to where I was reading originally. Is there an easier more efficient way to search over just a few chapters and perhaps only highlight the word that I was looking for rather than exclude all other verses? Hope that made sense. Λύχνις Δαν
God <AND> [range Ex 1:2-5] for example. Is that enough ? There have been multiple requests for a quick find in page which would help here but it is still on the to-do list I believe. Thx D
dlrude
Thanks Daniel, I think that today I have learned from this thread and the LXX/MT parallel thread that I really need to study the search functions. I see that I really do not know how to use them and they appear to be quite powerful. Going to read some in the training book tonight. Thanks again, Dave. rpavich
For some reason I can't quote people on this forum; I hit the quote button and nothing happens, but be that as it may, my question is...what training book are you referring to Dave? dlrude
One more thing I found this yesterday and Daniel Semler recommended it as well. I started looking at it also. file:///C:/Program%20Files%20%28x86%29/Oaktree/Accordance/Resources/Accordance%20Help/Default.htm#topics/10_ref/comprehensive_reference.htm%3FTocPath%3DComprehensive%2520Reference|_____1 If that link does not work just go to Accordance Help in the Accordance Help menu pulldown and look at the very bottom of the list on the left side of the screen. Look for "Comprehensive Reference" Dave Edited January 7, 2015 by dlrude

jeremyduncan
A small but appreciated change: you don't need to add the <AND> anymore for RANGE searches God [RANGE Ex] works Also the keyboard shortcut to add the RANGE to the search is Command +Shift + R which means you can type "God", hit "Command +Shift + R", and type Ex for a quick search like this.
